I’ve always had a soft spot for good ideas. When I worked in the financial services industry, the biggest thrill I got came from helping entrepreneurs build their ideas up into successful businesses. Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know some of the cleverest people in business, digital marketing, and social media research. Most of them were brimming with great ideas, and I soaked up all I could.

I started writing this blog because ideas are at their best when they’re shared. Now that I’ve stepped away from the old office and into a new life in a tropical island paradise, I feel I have something to say that others would like to hear. The great thing about this blog is that the flow of ideas is two-directional for me. Everything I have to share can now be met with feedback from smart, creative people all over the world who have ideas of their own.

I’m always on the lookout for new ways to connect with an audience. To that end, I’ve written for numerous trade publications and professional journals such as Social Media Today, FlyingSolo, and Business 2 Community. Almost every one of these experiences has set off a productive back-and-forth conversation with innovators and industry figures, some of which continue to this day. The professional partnerships and relationships with friends I’ve made this way have taught me a lot, and there’s hardly a day that I don’t use some awesome trick I learned this way.

If there’s anything I’ve learned over the years, it’s that I have a lot to learn. Taking on new knowledge and trying out new ideas is (hopefully) a lifelong process, and I’m lucky to share it with some great people. The first of these is my wife, Pretisha. On top of her workload as full partner in our business endeavors, she’s a brilliant cook with a knack for turning fresh ingredients into a full-course dinner on short notice. For some reason, she also thinks she’s better at FIFA than me.

Between business and blogging, I keep busy with watching and playing both basketball and poker. I reserve the right to talk at length about the Miami Heat, and what their chances look like in this year’s NBA championship race. I’m always on the lookout for a new local restaurant to try, and I spend as much time as I can spare at the gym to keep one step ahead of what all those restaurants are doing to my fitness level.
